Managing Inspirations
Being a Role Model
Hello friend – it’s Miriam 👋🏻
Welcome to this week’s Ikigami Insider
As we step deeper into 2025, let’s explore how managing inspiration and embodying the role of a role model can shape not just our own lives but also those around us. Being a role model is not about perfection; it’s about authenticity, intentional action, and leading by example.
This edition follows our refreshed format: 3 Ikigai Hacks across Intuition, Intelligence, and Integrity, 3 enriching book recommendations, and a poetic reflection to inspire your path.
Let’s begin.
Intuition: Recognizing Inspiration in Every Moment
True role models are not born—they are made through mindful choices and authentic presence. Inspiration often comes quietly. It’s in the moments we pause, listen, and let our inner voice guide us.
Hack 1: Begin your day by asking, “What inspires me today, and how can I share that inspiration?” Write it down and take one small step to embody it.
„Your purpose in life is to find your purpose and give your whole heart and soul to it.”
Intelligence: The Science of Influence
Research in social psychology shows that behavior is contagious. Modeling positive actions—resilience, kindness, or curiosity—can inspire others to mirror these traits. Neuroscience explains that mirror neurons in our brain activate when we observe others, subtly influencing our own actions.
Hack 2: Choose one behavior you wish to inspire in others—like patience or courage. Practice it intentionally throughout the day and observe how it impacts those around you.
“Leadership is not about being in charge. It’s about taking care of those in your charge.”
Integrity: Living Your Message
Being a role model requires living in alignment with your values. It means showing up consistently, even when it’s hard. Authentic leadership shines when our actions reflect our beliefs.
Hack 3: Reflect each evening: “Did my actions today reflect the person I aspire to be?” If not, decide how you will adjust tomorrow.
Reflection in Verse
Echoes of Inspiration
A quiet word, a steady hand,
A path lit softly through the sand.
Not loud, but sure—a guiding light,
Inspire through action, clear and bright.

Hot off the Press 🔥
Exciting news! I've officially started working on my Master’s Thesis titled:
“Berufung und Wohlbefinden von extrovertiert hochsensiblen Führungskräften: Konzeptentwicklung auf Basis einer multimethodischen Studie”
("Calling and Well-being of Extroverted Highly Sensitive Leaders: Concept Development Based on a Multimethod Study")
This research is deeply personal and professional for me—exploring how high-performing, highly sensitive leaders can align their professional calling with their well-being. I can’t wait to share more insights as the journey unfolds!
And speaking of purpose... I’m beyond excited to recommend a truly transformative event: the 1st Meaning and Purpose World Summit, founded by one of my greatest inspirations, Michael F. Steger. This incredible gathering will take place in lovely Lisbon, Portugal on May 12th and 13th. It’s designed to foster deep connections, meaningful encounters, and build a global community of people dedicated to spreading meaning and purpose worldwide (and to the planet).
Of course, I’ve already signed up!
You can join too! Registration is only €46.06 (plus your travel and accommodation costs).

🔗 My own reflections and why I’m attending
Because for me, learning is pure LUXURY.
I’m manifesting the opportunity to present my research findings from my Master’s Thesis at this inspiring summit.
Let’s grow and inspire together!
As you move forward, remember: the greatest inspiration often comes from simply being fully yourself. Embrace the small ways you can lead by example, and trust that your influence will ripple outward.
With warmth and intention,
Miriam
